Award-Winning Accumulator Tank in Borås

Rodoverken delivered the accumulator, including design, complete equipment, insulation, and outer casing, but excluding the foundation. The accumulator tank at Ryaverken in Borås is one of the tallest accumulator tanks in Europe, standing at over 70 meters high. The tank has a diameter of 26 meters and a storage capacity of approximately 37,000 cubic meters of district heating water. In 2012, the accumulator was awarded the Urban Development Prize in Borås and has become a landmark for the city. The facade is equipped with LED lighting, creating a beautiful effect in the evening and at night.

The accumulator was built right next to a busy road. Despite this, the project was executed safely without the need to close the road, largely thanks to Rodoverken’s self-developed spiral method.

The project was carried out between 2008 and 2010.

Total project value: 60,000,000 SEK.
