Fossil-Free Energy Production for Linköping
In Linköping, Rodoverken has built a hot water accumulator with a volume of 34,200 m³, which aims to help the city become carbon neutral by 2025. Despite challenges with material availability and delivery times, the project stayed on schedule thanks to careful planning and experienced staff.
Michael Fahlström, Business Area Manager for Fuel-Based Energy, states, “We are building the accumulator to utilize stored hot water during cold snaps, which allows for cheaper and more consistent production.”
The project has resulted in a new shining landmark in Linköping and minimizes the need for oil combustion, bringing the city one step closer to its fossil-free goal.
